Animal Care, Valley Water Mill Equestrian Center – Info at 417-833-3291

  • Care for equine herd, feeding, cleaning stalls and barns.
  • Assist in monitoring health, preventative health measures, and reporting health concerns.
  • Construct and repair livestock facilities, as needed.
  • Assisting with rentals and special events.
  • Previous horse experience preferred.
  • Hours vary, avg. 28 hrs./week.
  • Must be 16 yrs. or older.


 

 Riding Instructors, Valley Water Mill Equestrian Center – Info at 417-833-3291

  • Provide safe and high quality instruction for equine activities to participants of all ages.
  • Assist with other facility or daily equine maintenance duties, including participant assessments, providing lessons and lesson plans, equine suitability, health assessments and/or care.
  • Create a nurturing, positive and professional environment while following strict safety protocols and providing the highest caliber of service.
  • Previous riding instructor experience required.
  • Avg. 40 hrs./week, May-Aug. weekdays. Must be 18 yrs. or older.

  • Ensure guest safety through pool surveillance, accident prevention and emergency response.
  • Provide excellent guest service, basic facility cleaning and various opening and closing procedures.

  • Lead indoor and outdoor activities, lessons, crafts, games, animal interactions, cow train rides, pony rides and more.
  • Supervise summer camp participants while presenting an overall professional image.
  • Experience with horses preferred.

  • Assist with Pro Shop sales including inventory, merchandising, stocking and organizing.
  • Assist with light facility upkeep, as needed.

  • Operate a cash register to collect payment for concession sales at a variety of park facilities and special events.
  • Other duties include food preparation, product ordering, inventory, and customer service.
  • Flexible schedule. Hours vary, including evenings and weekends, avg. 15-28 hrs./week.

Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden Cashier – Info at 417-891-1515

  • Operate a cash register to collect admission fees and sell photo permits, small gifts and concessions.
  • Interacting with tourists from around the country and world is common. Being familiar with the plants, the garden and upcoming events is preferred.
  • Up to 28 hrs./week, evenings and weekends.

  • Responsible for transportation of food, beverage, and supplies to a variety of park facilities and special events.
  • May include concession stand operations, product ordering and inventory.

  • Operate a 71-passenger school bus. Requires a Class B Commercial driver license.
  • Provide transportation for elementary and middle school-aged youth during SPARC summer day camp.
  • May include light cleaning and assisting with camp operations such as snacks and refreshments.

Springfield Botanical Gardens, Tram Operation – Info at 417-891-1515

  • Provide an excellent guest experience by driving a 20-passenger tram and trailer and giving guided tours through the gardens.
  • Assist patrons on and off the tram, as needed. Light preventative maintenance and upkeep of the tram is required.
  • Weekends and some evenings. Up to 28 hrs. per week.
