Dog Swim

Tues., Sept. 6  The canine aquatics event of the year! Dogs take over Fassnight Pool before it closes for the season (no humans allowed in the water.) Bring your furry friend for an evening of swimming, barking and scampering around the pool.Proceeds benefit Cruse Dog Park. Registration required by Fri., Sept. 2.

Japanese Fall Festival

Sept. 9-11  A three-day celebration of Japanese culture and Springfield’s sister city, Isesaki, Japan. Includes sword fighting with festival headliner Samurai Soul, taiko drumming, dancing, martial arts, cosplay, crafts, vendors, food and gift market. Friday and Saturday evenings end with an intimate candlelight walk. Presented by Springfield Sister Cities Association.

DogFest

Sat., Sept. 24 A canine extravaganza! Everyone, including the family dog, is invited for free fun and activities at Chesterfield Park. DogFest features dog agility demonstrations, expert seminars, police K-9s, therapy dogs, a dog fashion show, a peanut butter lick-off, and canine-related vendors and nonprofits.
