Cooper Soccer Complex Facility/Lake Country Soccer Additions & Improvements

The Springfield-Greene County Park Board is soliciting qualification statements from firms interested in providing Engineering and Architectural services for additions and improvements at the Cooper Soccer Complex Facility / Lake Country Soccer in the City of Springfield. The Springfield-Greene County Park Board’s end goal is to improve the existing soccer facility to be competitive with other facilities in the region for hosting tournaments and events.

The Cooper Soccer Complex Facility / Lake Country Soccer is currently operated by the Springfield-Greene County Park Board and includes soccer fields, baseball fields, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, concession stands, restrooms, changing rooms, shelters, walking trails, and parking. The entire complex is approximately 127 acres.

There are currently eight soccer fields that are included in the scope of this addition and improvement project. Seven of the fields are currently natural grass and will be converted to synthetic turf. The remaining field had synthetic turf installed approximately 10 years ago and will now be replaced with new turf. There are several architectural improvements that will be made to the eastern area of fields (fields 1, 2, and 3). New locker rooms for players and officials will be added to the existing press box between fields 1 and 2. A new multipurpose building will also be programmed and designed to be adjacent to the new promenade that will connect fields 1, 2, and 3.

The intent of this Request for Qualifications is to procure engineering and architectural services for the facility additions and improvements. The selected Consultant shall work with staff from the Springfield-Greene County Park Board to refine the programmatic needs and design of the proposed buildings, determine the best synthetic turf system for the soccer fields, and identify all necessary site work to accommodate the proposed additions and improvements. Design services shall include surveying, geotechnical investigations, schematic design through preparation of construction documents, permitting, bidding and negotiation, construction administration, and post construction services.

The Springfield-Greene County Park Board intends to include all of the engineering and architectural design of the soccer facility additions and improvements under one professional design contract.
