The Valley Water Mill Park Equestrian Center is proud to be in partnership with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office by facilitating the newly formed Sheriff's Mounted Posse of Greene County.

The Sheriff's Mounted Posse of Greene County is a non-profit organization designed to promote good horsemanship and fellowship through clinics, charity events, fundraising, trail rides, and other park events. Look for us in local parades, providing security at events, local rodeos, fairs.
Mission: Law Enforcement Support, Community Enhancement, and Mounted Fellowship.

The Sheriff's Mounted Posse of Greene County is an organization of volunteers who provide support to Greene County and the State of Missouri through example, camaraderie and good will; and who represent the Sheriff in providing community service, with the primary emphasis on the use of horses.

The Sheriff's Posse in best known for its community support through various events and fundraisers. The Posse may also assist in the community at many functions such as horse security patrol at local rodeos, fairs, and other events.

Posse members are representatives of the Sheriff, but are not law enforcement personnel and do not enforce laws. The Posse has male and female members and is always interested in recruiting new members that are willing to be active within the group. The Posse continues the tradition of the old west by providing volunteer services to the Sheriff and the community.

While the Sheriff's Department does provide some support to the Posse, Posse expenses are covered by members, donations and fundraising events.

The Sheriff's Mounted Posse of Greene County is a not-for-profit organization, and donations may be tax deductible.

Educational Activities

We are happy to announce the schedule for the youth Basic Horsemanship classes being taught by The Sheriff’s Mounted Posse of Greene County. Sessions start August 24 and spots are limited. These will be 1 ½ hour 4 week sessions after school for ages 8-11 and 12-15.

Field Trips

Educators are invited to bring their classes out to learn more about what goes on at a horse barn. Lesson plans and activities can be provided. We also welcome groups that serve senior citizens or those with special needs for some fun activities for horse lovers. Reservations for groups must be made in advance.

Horse Soccer is Coming to the Ozarks!

Join us for this fall for Horse Soccer! We are offering two free sessions to learn the rules, practice and form a team. Then the fun begins with games conducted in a safe environment under the guidance of an experienced  coach/referee. There will be Walk-Trot teams, and teams for beginners and up.
