The Springfield-Greene County Park Board’s six outdoor pools open for the 2017 season Saturday, May 27.
Fassnight, Grant Beach, Meador, Silver Springs and Westport pools will be open Saturday and Sunday, 1-6:30 p.m. McGee-McGregor Wading Pool is also open, following its own schedule (see below). Indoor pools at Chesterfield and Doling Family Centers are also open seven days a week, with outdoor admission pricing Monday- Thursday, 1-6:30 p.m.
Fassnight, Grant Beach and Meador pools are also open Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, 1-6:30 p.m. for discount Splash & Sizzle, with all-day $1 admission, or free with a canned food donation, benefiting Ozarks Food Harvest.
Throughout the season, each pool is open six days a week, 1-6:30 p.m., through Sunday, Aug. 13 Maintenance days are staggered Monday through Wednesday, and all outdoor pools are open Thursday through Sunday.
Fassnight and Grant Beach pools remain open through Tuesday., Aug. 15, and reopen for weekends only through Labor Day.

“We have at least five pools open every day of the week, including indoor facilities at Chesterfield and Doling Family Centers,” said Marc Baker, Aquatics Coordinator for the Park Board. “All eight pools are open Thursdays through Sundays, so there are plenty of options to choose from.”
McGee/McGregor Wading Pool, for children 6 and under, operates on a slightly different schedule: Tuesday- Saturday, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-4 p.m., and Sunday 1-4 p.m. Admission there is free.
Meador Pool has been freshly repainted for the season. Fassnight pool is operating with an entirely new filter system.
The Park Board completely renovated Fassnight (2009), Silver Springs (2010), Grant Beach (2011) and Westport (2012) with funds from the voter-approved 2006 Parks Sales Tax, adding splash features, slides and other amenities. The former outdoor Doling Pool was replaced by the Doling Indoor Aquatics Facility in 2013.
Daily outdoor pool admission is $3/adults, $2.50/youth and seniors. Discount admission daily 5:30-6:30 p.m., $1 for all ages or free with a canned food item donation, benefiting Ozarks Food Harvest. Discount coupon books and season passes are available.
Outdoor pool admission prices apply at the indoor aquatics facilities at Chesterfield and Doling Family Centers, 1-6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Outside of these hours, indoor aquatics facilities admission is $6/youth and seniors, $8/adults, or $22/family.
Discount Splash & Sizzle events take place at on Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day, plus Friday and Saturday evenings in July, with all-day $1 admission, or free with a canned food item. Check parkboard.org/aquatics for schedule and locations.
In 2016, Splash & Sizzle and after-5:30 admissions generated 10.537 lbs. — more than five tons! — of canned food items for Ozarks Food Harvest, providing 8,780 meals for our community.
