Discount Splash & Sizzle swimming July 4 and July weekends


Springfield, Mo. — To mark the Independence Day holiday and the first full month of summer, the Springfield-Greene County Park Board’s outdoor pools offer plenty of discount Splash & Sizzle swimming opportunities in July.

Splash & Sizzle, offered in partnership with Ozarks Food Harvest, allows swimmers to enter pools for $1 admission, or free admission with a canned food donation. Regular pool admission is $2.50/kids and seniors, $3/adults.

Swimmers may take advantage of Splash & Sizzle pricing all day Independence Day, Thursday July 4, 12:30- 5:30 p.m., at Fassnight, Grant Beach and Meador outdoor pools. Pools open and close an hour early due to the holiday. Westport and Silver Springs pools and McGee-McGregor Wading Pool are closed July 4.

Starting this weekend, select outdoor pools are also open late, with Splash & Sizzle pricing kicking in at 5:30 p.m., including:

Grant Beach, open until 8 p.m. Fridays in July

Silver Springs, open until 8 p.m. Fridays in July

Westport, open until 8 p.m. Fridays in July

Meador, open until 8 p.m. Saturdays in July

Fassnight, open until 10 p.m. Saturdays in July

As of June 29, Westport Pool is open and fully operational, after being closed for five weeks for repair of a major water leak.

Outside of holidays and special events, regular outdoor pool hours are 1-6:30 p.m. (McGee-McGregor Wading Pool follows an abbreviated schedule.) Each pool is closed one day a week, on a staggered schedule, for maintenance. Discount Splash & Sizzle pricing is available every day after 5:30. Food donations benefit Ozarks Food Harvest.

Indoor pools at Chesterfield and Doling family centers follow their regular schedules throughout July.
