Springfield, Mo. — The Springfield-Greene County Park Board’s six outdoor pools open for the 2019 season Saturday, May 25.
Before each pool opens, the Park Board works with the Springfield-Greene County Health Department to measure water quality. Health Department and Park Board staff will inspect Silver Springs Pool and be available for interviews and b-roll Friday, May 24, 1 p.m. at 1100 N. Hampton Ave.
Fassnight, Grant Beach, Meador, Silver Springs and Westport pools will be open Saturday and Sunday, 1-6:30 p.m.
Fassnight, Grant Beach and Meador pools only are also open Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 1-6:30 p.m., for discount Splash & Sizzle, with all-day $1 admission, or free with a canned food donation, benefiting Ozarks Food Harvest.
After the holiday weekend, all outdoor pools follow their regular schedule through Sunday, Aug. 11. Each pool is open six days a week, 1-6:30 p.m., with maintenance days staggered Monday through Wednesday, and all outdoor pools open Thursday through Sunday. Daily outdoor pool admission is $3/adults, $2.50/youth and seniors. Discount Splash & Sizzle admission takes place daily after 5:30p.m., $1 for all ages or free with a canned food item donation, benefiting Ozarks Food Harvest. Discount coupon books and season passes are available.
McGee-McGregor Wading Pool also opens for the season Saturday, following its own schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-4 p.m., and Sunday 1-4 p.m. Admission there is free, but the pool is for kids age 6 and under with a parent only.
Indoor pools at Chesterfield and Doling Family Centers offer outdoor admission rates Monday-Thursday only, 1-6:30 p.m. Regular indoor pool admission is $6/kids and seniors, $8/adults.
