Ritter Springs Camping


Join Outdoor Initiatives for a fun overnight campout at beautiful Ritter Springs Park. Includes kayaking, catch & release fishing, hiking, and more. Dutch Oven dinner provided Saturday evening. Some equipment available on a first come first serve basis. Scholarships may be available to youth 18 years and under who meet the income requirements.

The Ritter Springs Park Camp Out planned for this weekend is postponed, due to weather. Event will be rescheduled in June, registered participants will be notified.

Ozark Trail Backpack & Paddle

Challenge yourself to the best of both worlds backpacking the first 12.5 miles on the Ozark Trail, followed by paddling 12 miles on the Courtoies and Huzzah creek, as well as the Meramec River. The beauty of the Ozark Trail is marked by bluff overlooks, hardwoods, caves, and even old ruins from an ironworks smelter. This is a moderate-to-strenuous level trip, based on the level of endurance and physical fitness needed to complete it. Transportation, water filtration, canoe/kayak, and major gear included. Giboney Cave Tours


Explore the myths, facts, and history of Doling Park’s Gi-boney Cave. Shoes will get muddy on Walking Tours, and cavers will get very muddy and wet on the in-depth Tunnel Tours. Participants encouraged to bring their own head-lamp or flashlight. Tours subject to cancellation, due to bats and weather.

Buffalo River-Ponca to Mt. Hersey


Paddle the first 46 miles of the Buffalo River segmented into two trips. 26 miles will be completed from Ponca to Pruitt for the first trip, followed by 20 more miles from Pruitt to Mt. Hersey on the second excursion. This section of the river provides views of towering bluffs, including iconic Big Bluff, as well as a chance to hike to Hemmed-In Hollow waterfall. Transportation, water filtration, canoe/kayak, and major gear included. Gear lists and meal planning help are available.

Eleven Point Paddle Trip


Experience the stunning Eleven Point River near Alton, Missouri, starting at Greer Crossing to Riverton access. This spring fed section of the river cuts through steep bluffs and sloping forested valleys. We will cover 20 miles on this over-night trip.
